Scholarships

Shirley Lavoie
Memorial Art Scholarship

Each year the Chelmsford Art Society offers the Shirley Lavoie Memorial Art Scholarship in the amount of $500.00. This scholarship goes to a deserving person who has indicated a desire to further his or her education in Fine Arts/Visual Arts at a recognized school of art education. Applicants are judged on their drawing ability, imagination, understanding and use of color, design and composition and variety of media. The proper presentation of work is carefully considered by the Scholarship Committee. The recipient is notified and public recognition is made at CAS Annual 4 th of July Art Festival. The cholarship winner is expected to attend this ceremony and also provide several matted and/or framed pieces for display.

2011. The Shirley Lavoie Scholarship winner was Joshua E. Shiau. Joshua's father picks up his award from VP Claire Gagnon. The talented student will be going to Rhode Island School of Design in September.

2010. Helen Moriarty, President awards Rangeley Morton the Art Scholarship. He will attend Maine College of Art.

 

2009. Two Shirley Lavoie Scholarships were awarded in 2009. Bobby Obendorf, who will be attending Plymouth State University and Magda Grazyna Janicki's mother accept for her. She will be going to Mass. College of Art. Claire Gagnon, VP of the Chelmsford Art Society presents.

 

CAS Scholarship
2008. President Claire Gagnon presents the art scholarship to recent Chelmsford High School graduate and tatented artist, Kevin Nawoichik, who will be attending New England Institues of Art, Boston, MA
